The Nourished Body pt2. Simple Foundations

Q: why does fat loss have to be so complicated…?

A: IT DOESN’T…but there are lots of wealthy companies that make A LOT of money making you think it is.
.
Every extreme diet program, 30 day workout solution, magic shake or pill, or any other quick fix promise guaranteeing you fast weight loss for X amount of dollars is feeding you the lie that you can’t figure out how to lose weight and get healthy on your own. They’ve muddled the path to simple good health with so many “shortcuts” and “off-ramps” that its almost impossible not to get lost on the way.

What they don’t tell you is that the money they are making off “helping” you is more than most countries make in annual GDP…i mean, WHAT?!?! How shady is that?!
.


Let me simplify it for you (of course there can be nuances and deeper problems but we can all use a bit of clarity here…)
There are 3 pillars to getting your body to a happy weight: nutrients, movement, stress.
We can manipulate these three variables to make for the most ENJOYABLE life, while still maintaining good health. I would argue that I enjoy life the MOST when I have these three pillars balanced properly and I feel my best by far!

These 3 factors affect the foundation of health:
-blood sugar
-hormones
-metabolism
If we can get these happy, our bodies will be happy, end of story.

One caveat, this is a LIFELONG PROCESS. This is not a quick fix solution, not a 30 day shred, certainly not a magic pill. It’s life. It’s eating, moving, and living intentionally day in and day out. There are so many tweaks we can make on the ground level that will have HUGE benefits down the line, but the key is keeping them up and making them sustainable.

Here are some ways we can simplify each pillar in a way you can take action on TODAY.

Simplify nutrients:

--eat enough, but not too much--

--eat plenty of bioavailable protein--

--eat high quality carbs + fats in proper ratio--

--prioritize fat soluble vitamins + minerals--

--support adrenals with (high quality) sugar and salt--

--eat the HIGHEST quality you can find--

--eat biologically compatible food--

(ie. soaked/sprouted grains/legumes, low PUFA, unpasteurized dairy, properly cooked veg, nose to tail animal products )

Simplify movement:

--drop the high intensity cardio sessions--

--focus on muscle GROWTH--

--progress slowly, but surely--

--increase non-exercise activity--

--walk outside everyday--

--allow your body to fully recover--

--strengthen glutes and core--

--don't sit for long period of time--

.

Simplify stress:

--get outside EVERY DAY in the sun--

--put your feet in the grass--

--enjoy life and LAUGH--

--grow a deep community (rather than wide)--

--get as much sleep as you can--

--reduce screen time (esp. after dark)--

--stop glorifying business and productivity--

--find fulfilling hobbies to do with hands--

--reduce toxins in home, skin care, water, food--

--define your family's values and prioritize them--
